Please let us all know if you have more success or if things seem to remain broken. An alternative would be to open a command prompt, navigating to the directory with the exectuable, and running the compiled program manually to see if the directory error still occurs. The operating system versions is properly detected, and the compiler's header and library paths are automatically configured if using a version of macOS 11.0 or higher (where system headers and libraries are now kept in a nonstandard location). If you're still having troubles, there could possibly be a bug in Simply Fortran. On the macOS platform, the legacy package will now run properly on all macOS versions from 10.6.8 through 12.0. In builds where debugging is disabled, debugger control buttons are properly hidden when a header bar configuration is requested. A delay has been added to launching tools or Fortran executables to ensure terminals have opened and initialized properly. On GNU/Linux and macOS platforms, internal terminals will now start in a more sensible location thanks to removing a trailing slash from the desired working directory. Internal terminals should grab keyboard focus by default when opened. Copy and paste functions on internal terminals should be functional on all platforms. The Stack listing in the Debugger panel now ends with the current position, which had been omitted in previous releases. Variable values in the debugger should no longer display a pipe character after their values. ![]() Toolbox management features on macOS and GNU/Linux were fixed to address numerous bugs surrounding global tools, especially related to changes not persisting after restarting Simply Fortran.Ī number of cross-platform bugs were corrected in this release. Toolbox executables can now be configured to launch using the internal console that was introduced recently on all platforms. Simply Fortran will always treat fixed-format Fortran as a first-class language, and we look forward to any feature requests or bug reports concerning our support of this syntax. Additionally, Simply Fortran's auto-indentation can now be disabled. New options were added to specify the first column for new lines and initial tabs on any given line. The fixed-format Fortran editor can now be configured to behave somewhat differently than in previous versions. The latest release incorporates a number of bug fixes for the development environment and introduces minor feature additions based on recent improvements. #Approximatrix simply fortran not responding windows#I dismiss it and the three hello.exe processes are still thereįor fun I'll now double click Hello.exe again from within Windows Explorer andĬonclusion - SF Launch! does not work for me.Approximatrix is happy to announce the release of Simply Fortran 3.22 for all supported platforms. I see the empty Console window with the blinking cursor and NO and three hello.exe *32 Processes are created Now will it run from within SF using the Launch! ? #Approximatrix simply fortran not responding code#I would more likely guess that the target.exe processes that you're seeing in the task manager are some sort of legacy launch attempts.Ĭould you either post here or send the source code for Test99.f95 to so I can try to replicate the problem? I can't explain why you'd be seeing this behavior without seeing the source code.Ĭhecked External Console and Unchecked Build before Launch.Īnd when I click on the file from within Windows Explorer, it runs as expected. If the process is not being killed when you close the "Project Console" window, it means something serious is causing your program to fail to terminate, which I find doubtful. It is actually executing a batch file via cmd.exe that contains only your executable and a "pause" statement. When in a external console, Simply Fortran releases control of the executable entirely it is no longer controlling the process. When the "External Console" option is selected in Launch Options, Simply Fortran just asks Windows to execute your program in a Command Window, nothing more. ![]() Is there a chance that these were from earlier attempts to run your code? You said that there were three "target.exe" programs in the Task Manager. ![]() If the process is not being killed or if it is somehow spawning multiple copies of itself (which I doubt), there still may be something wrong with your code. ![]() If you close this window using the "X" in the upper right, it should kill the process. If you expect to see some output at some point, there may be something wrong in your code. When the "Project Console" window opens and the cursor is just blinking, it means your program, target.exe, is actually running. ![]()
